Waterfall looks so cold it almost appears to be a big snowdrift itself! Really awesome that you got out there to brave the elements for this shot. Makes it that much more magical. Can't wait to see your shots from yesterday! :eager:
Great work, Addam! =D

:jawdrop: So many amazing elements in one shot, Addam. I was left speechless for a good five minutes just staring at all the madness going off in this one. Big ol' box of kudos for your efforts. :)

This is amazing. I was instantly transported. I could feel the icy rain, hear the rippling currents, smell the snowy evergreens... A transcendent image. If I may propose one detail that really takes this image out past the edge of awesome, it's this: the subtle gradient just visibile in the sky beyond the trees, where the pale white light of a hidden winter sun seems to shine behind the clouds. Is that the sky as you saw it, or is that a photo enhancement after the fact? Either way, it's amazing, because either you caught that in the natural temporal moment, or you had the brilliant idea to add that or enhance that in an already amazing picture... Mind-blowing. Thanks for sharing this work.

oh my, truly grateful for your kind words..thank you so very much! wish i could take credit for a brilliant idea, but the sky was naturally like that, about 20 minutes after this shot the sun actually came out for a brief showing..then 10 minutes later..torrential downpour! typical NW weather for you though! thanks again!: )

If this is an unmodified shot, that still amazes me. Perhaps more so, because it's the actual moment you captured, not an after-effect. And having grown up around Portland Oregon, I can say that the Pacific Northwest feel comes through in all your shots, and especially in this one. I'm so happy I've moved to Arizona, because I love this new climate and urban environment, but this image evokes everything beautiful about my old home region, so much so that the thought crossed my mind that maybe I should move back there to enjoy beauty like this--and, since at the time I left I swore I'd never return, getting me to think of it at all is quite an achievement. Fortunately, I don't have to move back because now I have this image! Which is more like an experience than just a photograph...

Anyway, I must echo the other comments about your fortitude in braving the elements to get a photo like this, and I'll add that all your work is a pleasure to view, so take my effusive enthusiasm not just for this but your gallery in general. Thanks for sharing such fine work!

there was contrast and brightness adjustments..probably color, but all to make it appear as i saw it through my eye. honored to hear that my images let you relive your experience in the NW..and glad you found your ideal climate! wouldnt mind an 80 degree day in the winter after an outing like this ;)

thanks again for all your kind words..very appreciative :thanks:
